SIC Life Insurance LTD has strengthened its nationwide presence with the opening of a new office in Goaso in the Ahafo Region, in line with its commitment to making life insurance services more accessible to individuals, families and businesses across the country. The opening of the office forms part of the company's expansion strategy aimed at bringing quality life insurance services closer to customers, particularly in emerging economic centres, while supporting financial inclusion and regional development.
The commissioning ceremony attracted traditional leaders, government officials, business executives, religious leaders and members of the public. Among the dignitaries present were the Goasohemaa, Nana Afia Serwaa I, other queen mothers from the Goaso traditional area, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Asunafo North Municipality, Hon. Joseph Akparibo, Rev. Douglas Biney of the Methodist Church, the Managing Director of SIC Life Insurance LTD, Ing. Solomon Twum Barima (Esq) and members of the company's management team and staff.
The Goasohemaa, Nana Afia Serwaa I, welcomed SIC Life Insurance LTD to the Ahafo Regional capital and commended the company for investing in the municipality. She described the opening of the office as a timely intervention that would improve access to financial protection for residents and contribute to the socio-economic development of the area. She urged the management of SIC Life to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and customer service, stressing that trust remained the foundation of the life insurance business. The Queen Mother also encouraged residents, traders, farmers, artisans and business owners to embrace life insurance as a means of safeguarding the welfare of their families against unforeseen circumstances. She assured the company of the support of the traditional authorities and expressed optimism that the partnership between SIC Life and the people of Goaso would contribute to the continued growth of the municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Asunafo North Municipality, Hon. Joseph Akparibo, described the establishment of the SIC Life office as a welcome investment that aligned with the government's efforts to promote economic growth, job creation and financial inclusion in the municipality. He said Goaso's emergence as the capital of the Ahafo Region had created new opportunities for businesses and investors, making it imperative for institutions such as SIC Life to establish a presence in the municipality to meet the growing needs of residents. Hon. Akparibo commended the company for extending its services to the people of the municipality and expressed confidence that the new office would improve access to insurance products while creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Delivering the keynote address, Ing. Twum Barima said the decision to establish a branch in Goaso was a deliberate one, driven by the town's rapid transformation following its designation as the capital of the Ahafo Region. He explained that Goaso had become an important administrative and commercial hub, attracting new investments and creating opportunities for businesses. According to him, SIC Life considered it necessary to establish a presence in the municipality to support the region's growth while providing residents with easier access to insurance services. He noted that many residents had previously travelled long distances to access life insurance services, a situation that often resulted in inconvenience and additional costs. The new office, he said, would eliminate those challenges by bringing services closer to customers. "Our goal is to ensure that no one is denied financial protection because of distance," he said, adding that the company was extending its reach to several communities across the country as part of its transformation agenda.
The Managing Director said the Goaso office would provide a full range of insurance services, including policy purchases, premium payments, claims processing, customer enquiries and financial advisory services. He indicated that the branch would also create employment opportunities for people within the municipality and be staffed by personnel who understand the local environment and the needs of customers. He added that the company's physical presence in the municipality would enable customers to receive faster and more efficient services while strengthening trust and confidence in life insurance.
Ing. Twum Barima underscored the importance of life insurance in protecting families against unforeseen circumstances, stressing that it provides financial security and peace of mind. He encouraged individuals, families, churches, farmer groups, cooperatives, educational institutions and businesses in the Ahafo Region to take advantage of the company's range of life insurance products tailored to meet their various needs. He also announced improvements to the company's flagship product - Sika Plan, explaining that the policy had been enhanced to provide customers with greater value. According to him, subscribers to the plan can now enjoy life insurance cover of up to GH¢150,000, describing the enhancement as part of the company's commitment to providing meaningful financial protection through affordable premium contributions.
The Managing Director reaffirmed SIC Life's commitment to building a long-term relationship with the people of Goaso, founded on integrity, professionalism and excellent customer service. He appealed to traditional authorities, opinion leaders, business owners and residents to partner the company in promoting awareness of life insurance and its role in safeguarding the financial future of families and businesses. He said the new office represented more than a business expansion, describing it as a demonstration of the company's confidence in the future of Goaso and the Ahafo Region.
The opening of the Goaso office is one of several initiatives being undertaken by SIC Life Insurance LTD to deepen insurance penetration and extend quality life insurance services to more communities across Ghana. The company believes that by bringing its services closer to customers, more Ghanaians will have the opportunity to protect their families, preserve their livelihoods and build long-term financial security.
